Environmental Suspense Thriller ‘What if…?’ to Become Movie!

Well, that title kind of gives the news away, huh? Not to mention the reason why I’m posting so early this week.

There’s a very real possibility that my eco-suspense thriller ‘What if…?’ might be adapted into a movie by a giant of the entertainment industry (whether for the big screen or the small one is yet to be determined).

It’s a bank holiday here in England, so I decided to have a lie-in this morning. 7:47a.m. I got a phone call. Still drowsy, I answered. I quickly woke up when someone from continental Europe told me what the call was about:

  • One of the biggest entertainment production companies in Europe wants me to submit a treatment (breakdown) of my book to see how it could be envisioned as a movie.

And I’m not talking about sneaking my book in through the back door via a friend of my cousin who works in the mailroom who knows a secretary who knows… Oh no, this is a direct request from one of the big cheeses - someone with the power to make things happen if they like what they see!

Will it happen? Who can say? To be honest, I don’t hold out much hope - things like this happen to other people but never work out for me. That said, there is one glaring factor in my favour - I haven’t gone begging; they’ve approached me!

As you’ll appreciate, it’s way too early and inappropriate at this stage to disclose any names. Suffice it to say that while the company may not be a household name, its successful productions are massive globally.

Not only is this great news for me, but it’s great for all the issues I’m passionate about. Within its suspense thriller storyline, ‘What if…?’ explores environmental, conservation, and human rights issues, all of which are integral to the story. They simply cannot be removed - it’d be like taking the murder out of a murder mystery: the whole story would fall apart. This means that should the movie be made, issues that rarely get the attention of mainstream entertainment will reach a whole new audience with devastating impact.

As you can imagine, this is just a tad exciting. Not to mention unexpected. Karma? Who’s to say? After the tragic news Ania and I suffered last week, to receive such good news this week is absolutely incredible.

Don’t fear to dream, my friends. One day… well, you just never know, do you?

So go. See. Feel. Live.
Steve

Congratulations, Steve, that’s exciting! It’s a compliment to you, for sure. It’s great that they want to make a movie about such subjects. I wonder what things from the book they are most interested in. I hope it works out so I can watch the movie in a theater. :) Good news!

I really hope this happens for you Steve. You really have to believe it will and visualize it every day. These things don’t happen to you (as you said) because you don’t think you deserve them. Well maybe you do!!!

Congratulations Steve! Thats really great news, not only for you and your hard work, but for the ‘needed for public view’ causes contained in your writings. Just to be considered is a great achievement. I wish you good luck my friend and we’re all batting for you. Ron G.

I want discussions on the biggest problems this world is facing. And it is not global warming that will kill the most people. Look at hunger water health and than at the climate change and how we can deal with that!
We in Holland have had the coldest easter since many years…in average 40 years but there have been places where it has been 107 years ago…
We need to reduce our ecological footprint!
All the best lets hope that you will soon hear from them!

How exciting! I can’t wait to read the book, first. Thrillers, and faith, are near to my heart. What a combination for success.
